Mission of Radioisotope Research Center

Radioisotope Research Center The Radioisotope Research Center of the Institute for Radiation Sciences aims at contributing to the advancement of education and research related to radioisotopes through the safety management of radioisotopes and shared use of facilities. All the departments within the institute carry out routine tasks necessary for the safety management of radioisotopes as a single unit, and facilities are provided for shared use within and outside Osaka University.

  1. The safety management of the departments in the university with facilities where radioisotopes are used, is carried out by general coordination.
  2. Education and training are implemented for persons engaged in handling of radioisotopes.
  3. Research related to safety management and advanced usage of radiation and radioisotopes is carried out.
  4. Operations necessary for the safety management of radioisotopes and shared use of facilities are carried out.
